Opening of the renovated Vondersweijde Sports Centre in Oldenzaal
On Friday 15 November 2024, the renovated Vondersweijde sports centre was festively opened by Alderman Rob Christenhusz. The renovated sports centre is the result of intensive collaboration and involvement of many.

Sportcentrum Vondersweijde has undergone a complete metamorphosis. The recreational pool has become larger, because the outdoor pool has been covered and merged with the indoor pool. New play elements have also been placed in the toddler pool for the little ones. In addition, the entire technical installation has been replaced. Furthermore, various adjustments have been made to the swimming pool itself, the sanitary facilities and the catering industry. For example, the floor of the catering industry has been replaced and it has been equipped with new furniture. The revitalization work started in September 2023 and completed in October 2024.
With all these improvements, the sports centre is ready to welcome athletes and families again and let them enjoy a sustainable sports environment. A place where all employees can work in a modern and pleasant environment.”
